Let me be honest with you...

I show a lot of apartments.

It's pretty easy to tell when someone is interested.

It's pretty easy to tell when someone wont qualify

(which has nothing to do with race or gender but usually with smell and lack of shoes/clothing on)

But there is nothing more annoying to me.

NOTHING.

Then when I have someone who would like to see the apartment.

Loves it.

Then would like me to show them the grounds.

The laundry rooms.

The apartment one more time.

Then the pool, gym and carports...twice.

Then they say

"Let me be honest with you..."

BOMB

I can't tell you how many times I have heard that phrase.

What usually followes the "let me be honest with you..." varies

I have had

Let me be honest with you...

I don't have a job right now or any money

I am currently filling for bankruptcy

My roommate is trying to kill me

I am being evicted

etc

etc

Now this is what you LEAD with.

Don't waste my time.

Now my all time favorite "let me be honest with you" moment came from my friend D who is a property manager as well(I think all us property managers have a "let me be honest with you" story)

She was showing an apartment to a nice couple.

They loved the apartment and everything was going very nice until they said it

"Let me be honest with you, we have been evicted from our last two apartments and we put our manager through hell trying to get us out. We probably wont pay rent but we will show you a lot of love."

Well, at least they were honest.

I wonder what manager actually went for it?
