Phone rings...and rings...and rings...

Hello (in my best you just woke me up from a deep sleep voice)

Hello! I have been stuck inside your parking lot for the last hour.

Huh? (remember I am slightly coherent) Who is this?

I was here visiting my friend and I have been sitting here in my car and the gate is not opening and I have been waiting here for over an hour. This is F'ing ridiculous.

Well, pull your car forward

I did!

Well pull it forward a little more (now I am watching her on the security camera screen) a little more, just a little more. (now I see the gate open)

Finally!

Which apartment did you say you were visiting?

Michael in apartment...

Okay

-click-

I waited until 6:00 am to call back Michael knowing he would be fast asleep to tell him he should let his friends know that gate has a censor that opens it automatically.

PS- Check me out here

It's amazing how airheaded people can be.

Love the new layout! It's so perfect!

Ha! Ha! People can sometimes amaze me with their stupidity! I remember one story like yours where a guy got locked inside a garage and when I went to let him out (at 4 am in my pajamas) he actually asked if he had woken me up. LOVE your stories!! Love em!

Some people are simply too stupid to survive. My DH and I own three rental properties. One tenant called us about 11:30 on a Friday night to tell us that there was "something wrong" with the ceiling fixture in her living room. It wouldn't turn on. I asked her to check the fuse box and after i described what a fuse box look like and what it does she managed to locate it and report that no, she hadn't blown a fuse.
DH and I hopped in the car and drove 40 minutes to see what was up with her ceiling fixture. We got there shortly before 1 a.m. only to find that the ceiling light worked fine; she just needed a new lightbulb.
Too. Stupid. To. Live.
I love your blog. It cheers me up when I have to deal with addlebrained tenants.

I love all of your stories!

Found your blog via the interview and I am cracking up! When I was in college I managed to afford housing by managing an apartment building (in other words, desperate college student gets cheap rent and takes on one of the suckiest yet most interesting jobs ever).. the things people will say and do never ceases to amaze me!

I will definitely be back!

I left you an award on my blog! I just think this blog is too funny so I had to reconize it!

I'm sure that person felt ridiculous. Could you tell if they blushed from the security camera?

I hate to admit it, but I would probably do something that stupid, but I would have called my "friend" to ask for help. Who sits there for an hour?
