Speaking of Bad Reviews

Can we talk about this one...
"Management will not give you the full deposit back even though you give them the place exactly like when it was when you moved in...The manager is rarely in the office and too "busy" to take care of the tenants. The rent is overpriced for the service and the place"
Now let us rewind to six months earlier.
It's 11:30 p.m., my emergency line rings.
"Hello."
"Hi, it's (Tenant), in apartment **, my toilet is broken and I have no where else to go to the bathroom."
"What's wrong with it? Is it not flushing, leaking water..."
"Leaking water, I need you to hurry."
I roll out of bed, because yes, I was asleep.
I walk to his apartment.
I walk into his bathroom.
I see a dismantled toilet.
"Well, your toilet isn't working because you took it apart."
Duh.
"I was installing a bidet, because the apartment didn't come with one."
I took a deep breath, reminding myself violence is not the answer here. "Use the gym bathroom if you need to and I'll have the maintenance take care of it in the morning."
"No! Have the plumber come out now."
Reminding myself, once again, that smacking him upside the head will not make him smarter. "If you want to have a plumber come out, please go ahead and call one, you made the mess, you can pay for it."
He turns to his friend and begins talking in French.
I don't speak French, so I left.
Now, it is move-out day.
We had scheduled an appointment to do a walk through that morning.
I showed up, he was not ready to move.
He asked for an additional day.
I gave it to him.
At no charge mind you.
The next day, I walked back to check to see if they were ready.
Still not ready.
I checked in again before I closed the office.
Still need more time.
(started charging)
The next day, same as the first.
On the THIRD day, they decide they're ready to move-out.
Mr. Bidet, storms into the office demanding we do a walkthrough RIGHT NOW.
I was with another tenant, I told him he would have to wait.
He got mad, and said he wanted to do it right then.
I told him to go wait in his apartment and I would be there when I was done.
He stormed off mumbling to himself, again, I don't speak French, but I think I got the message.
I walked back ten minutes later.
The apartment was empty, but it is also dirty. There were scuffs on the wall and the oven had six months worth of food stuck to the sides.
I told them they would be charged for paint and cleaning.
Mr. Bidet starts huffing and puffing and claiming I am "raping him"...
Clearly, he needs to work on his English, because that is NOT what was happening.
They asked for a few extra hours to clean.
I gave it to them, because apparently, I enjoy torturing myself.
Now it is 6:00 p.m., office is closed, I am eating dinner with my family.
Mr. Bidet starts banging on my door.
I told him that I would help him once I was finished with dinner.
He was not happy.
So he stood at my window, the one that overlooks my dinning table, and watched me eat.
I pulled the blinds.
He started tapping on the window.
Now, this is where both my husband and I decided we were done.
I walked outside, held my hand out and said, "Give me your keys, now."
He dropped them in my hand.
"Now leave, before I have you escorted out of here."
"I'll get a lawyer and see you in court," he threatened.
"I'm looking forward to it," I replied.
I charged him $60 for touch-up paint.
He never took me to court, instead, he went to apartmentratings, Yelp, and every other rating website there is, which honestly, I would have rather gone to court, because I find small claims court to be quite entertaining.

This is what is wrong with these websites. Anyone can leave a review, they don't even have to live there. It is only one side, and then it is out there on the internet for everyone to see.
I swear, these rating websites are only bad reviews. It's hard to decipher what is real, and what is just a nut job with a computer.
Tapping on your window? Are you serious? I would have lost my cool. You've taught me a good lesson, not to trust all those ratings!
raped? people are stupid, and yet you tell it in such a funny way.
Another reason you may need professional services such as Property management in Oxnard CA is if you do not live close to the areas in which your rentals are located. This is sometimes referred to as being an “absentee landlord,” and can lead to numerous complications and problems. For example, tenants who know you live in another state or county may attempt to get away with inappropriate actions, such as allowing extra people to live in the unit, smoking in a non-smoking apartment, or bringing pets into the rental when restrictions apply.
