Apartment story: In Michigan, our next door apartment was turned into a halfway house for guys who were recovering from all sorts of addictions. Our building became a chaotic madhouse with fights and people coming and going.
One winter night, my ex-husband was out on the porch having a cigarette when he noticed movement - a guy was trying to break into the bathroom window of the Old Ladies Across the Hall! (That was how they were known.)
He shouted and the guy tumbled back into the bushes, then fled. The police, of course, never found him because as we were on the phone, a car sped away and the tracking dog lost the scent in the parking lot, but we got to feel great about that good deed and eventually, the halfway house was done away with.
Your blog is hilarious! You are the best and skinniest blogging apartment manager I know!

Dear Erin ~ Because of your blog, I have to stay at work 15 minutes late everyday you post something because I have failed to do acutal work and have spent time reading your blog instead. I can't help it. :) Hopefully this benefits me in the form of chilis, starbucks, and such.

I'm posting on this HILARIOUS blog which makes me laugh SO hard that I might get SKINNY and winning would just be the BEST!!! My favorite apartment story, HANDS DOWN, is the old couple one!! I cant believe how incredibly awkward that would have been. SO funny!
FUNNY STUFF! My sister is an Apartment Manager and since her husband does maintenance I got to hear all kinds of HILARIOUS stories from her building while I drove her to the impound lot to get her hubby's car out of hock. Which got towed while he was at an on call "emergency".
Did you know that they have a motorized chair for elderly called "The Jazzy"??? Picture pink with red sparkles and Maude from Golden Girls in hot pants and a tube top! Oh yeah baby!

I'm Michelle, Gabbi's apartment manager sister, and yes she heard the hilarious stories on the way to the impound lot to pick up my maintenance man husband's car. Yes, it was towed in NE Mpls while fixing an "emergency" toilet! While at the impound lot (which is like standing in an immigration and customs line in another country) he received three more "emergency calls". What's more stressful than being an apartment manager (of 188 units)? Being married to the management company's maintenance man the week of Christmas when he's on call! Oh and by the way, you are super cute AND super skinny! How do you do it?!
