Why?

Can someone explain why you would wrap your entire stove in foil? 

I see this in apartments a lot. 

Nice kitchen with a foiled-covered stove. 

I mean, I'm not a complete idiot, I get that you don't want to get your stovetop dirty. 

But don't you have to clean the foil?

Or do you replace the foil every time?

So you never have to clean anything....

K, never mind. I get it.
